Save the Children International has an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as the Financial Reporting Accountant in London, UK or any existing Save the Children International Regional or Country office worldwide.
Role Purpose:
The Financial Accountant is responsible for preparing the global financial statements, the charity commission return and supporting in the yearend and audit process. Lead on the preparation of year-end financial reporting (financial statements for SCI globally (covering 1.2 billion of expenditure), Save the Children Association and Trading). Responsible for reconciling the financial statements to the management accounts. Lead on producing and developing key global KPIs which will measure the quality of financial control at country office level. To prepare the VAT return on a quarterly basis. To support on the quarterly risk reporting meetings with the regions to ensure key risks are well captured and discussed effectively.
In order to be successful, you will bring/have:
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
Essential
- Qualified Finance professional with experience of operating in a global and complex organisation
- Excellent knowledge of UK SORP (Statement of Recommended Practice for Charity Accounting and Reporting) and UK/International GAAP and legal requirements.
- Extensive experience in working with complex accounting systems (e.g. Agresso, SUN etc)
- Knowledge and experience of VAT, PAYE, NI and other tax issues.
- Excellent business partnering, negotiating and relationship building skills with a strong customer focus
- The ability to influence others, to liaise with a wide range of colleagues at all levels and across different cultures and to act with credibility, tact and diplomacy
- Ability to adapt and adjust working style according to changing business needs in a dynamic environment
- Strong results orientation, with ability to deliver on time and in full, to find solutions and implement improvements
- Experience with management information systems and strong excel skills
- Experience of solving complex issues through analysis
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Results oriented with ability to find solutions and make improvements
- Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships at all levels
- Self-motivated with good time management skills and ability to prioritise workload, anticipate requirements, work to tight deadlines and communicate decisions on a regular basis

We can offer circa £52,500 per annum (If based in UK) with an option of flexible working hours. If the role is based outside of the UK, National T&C (including pay) will apply.
This role can be based in London or any existing Save the Children International Regional or Country office location on approval, provided the successful candidate has proof of eligibility to work from the preferred location.
