I recently accompanied David Wright, Save the Children Regional Director for East and Southern Africa, and Chittaranjan Kuchinad, Chief People Officer, Human Resource and Culture for a field visit together with other colleagues.
Jackeline Atieng is a passionate community health volunteer (CHV) who hails from Angurai A village in Chelelemuk community unit. In her busy schedule, Ms. Atieng spares time to visit expectant mothers and newborn babies. She is known for her dedication in ensuring her community members access maternal and newborn health services.
It is a chilly, dusty morning on the 29th August 2016 at Guba centre in Mandera County. Women and children have gathered at the health facility to receive the essential immunisation services from the medical outreach team.
