NAIROBI, 22 APRIL 2016 - A fire incident occurred at the Save the Children Kenya Country Office located in Westlands Nairobi on Friday 22 April 2016. The fire which broke out at around 4pm in the parking lot of the premises was apparently caused by a welding machine which was being used by a contractor at the premises carpark where some renovations are underway.

We wish to reiterate that the fire incident was not caused by any negligence on the part of Save the Children and that no flammable liquids were stored in the containers which caught fire. The police and fire services are assisting with our investigation into the cause of the fire.
