Save the Children marked a historic day on May 28th, 2014 celebrating the dignity of girls during menstruation.  Guest speakers included the Women Representative of Kiambu County Honorable Nyokabi Gatheca, the Regional Director of Save the Children, Mr.David Wright and the Program Quality and Design Director, Karen Poore who were invited to motivate the girls during the event.

IT’S SMART TO SAVE THE ‘SMATA’ WAY.

Save the Children in partnership with Postbank and the Kenya Institute of Public Policy Research and Analysis (KIPPRA), today held a well-attended press conference at the Sarova Stanley hotel to mark the 2nd anniversary of the launch of the Postbank ‘SMATA’ Account - a tailored banking product for teens aged between 12 and 18 years. This is a product that was successfully launched in mid-2012 with the aim of empowering adolescent youth on financial stewardship by inculcating a savings culture.
