Project and Change Manager - CMS

The Opportunity

Save the Children International has an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as the Project and Change Manager - CMS in Centre -London, UK orany existing Save the Children International Regional or Country office worldwide

Role Purpose:

Save the Children is evolving its organisational structure in order to stay true to its mission, vision and values, whilst being able to withstand external pressures – be those geo-political demands; increasing stakeholder expectations; challenging funding environments; reduced access to funding; or declining trust in large INGOs. This is driven through our ambitious transformation agenda. In Save the Children we currently have a range of different Content Management Systems (CMS) being used across the movement. With this project we are looking to implement a Global CMS Platform that is centralised and is supported through a shared service. Through doing this we aim to revolutionise Save the Children’s ability to rapidly deploy global online campaign’s utilising a centralised pool of technical resources to maintain and deploy functionality across the movement. It is a complex project, with a high level of visibility and will require senior level engagement with stakeholders across the movement.

The role of the Project and Change Manager - CMS will be to support the Project Lead to deliver on our CMS priorities for Save the Children to include ensuring we have a clear strategy and path to reach our defined outcomes. We have recently completed a feasibility and are now ready to move forwards to design and develop the required system and associated processes and supporting shared service. Upon joining, this role will be required to develop a detailed plan for delivery of the project and work with the wider Project and Change team to refine our existing methodology to enable agile working. The role will have a key role in the tender process for an implementing partner to support the design / development and will be required to ensure close management of the plan holding relevant parties accountable for their delivery in support of the Project Lead. In addition, the role holder will be responsible for further developing existing project management practices utilising SCA’s Project Lifecycle, managing relationships with key stakeholders and driving continuous improvements. This role also requires the holder to work closely with the Global Fundraising Department and Fundraising Leads for Save the Children, from across the globe.

Alongside the project management responsibilities, this role will also be responsible for managing the end-to-end change and deployment deliverables specific to the project including regular communication to stakeholders to inform, engage and motivate the impacted functions ensuring acceptance and necessary buy in as well as completion of the required preparatory steps. The role will also be required to work closely with the Business Analyst.

In terms of deliverables, the role holder will be responsible for all items as outlined in the Project Lifecycle and Change Approach that are relevant to this deployment, examples include the Project Plan, stakeholder matrix, Change and Comms Plan, Change Impact Assessment etc. Core to this role will be ensuring effectively alignment with wider transformation initiatives as well as effectively managing relationships with key stakeholders and driving continuous improvements.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

Essential 

  • A strong track record of successfully managing medium to large complex projects and/or programmes
  • Proven experience of using and leading change management activities including change impact assessment, stakeholder analysis, managing resistance, building change capacity, designing and defining roles and responsibilities
  • Demonstrable experience and in-depth knowledge of programme and project practices and standards
  • Prior experience in managing and reporting on projects within a Portfolio Office/PMO structure
  • A proven ability to deliver projects on time / on budget, using project management processes and tools including risk management, benefits management, financial management and quality assurance
  • Good management and influencing skills with experience of working with senior level executives
  • A proven ability to resolve issues swiftly and decisively whilst safeguarding standards and procedures
  • Strong team leadership abilities with the ability to motivate and mobilise individuals within or outside their reporting line
  • Strong business requirements collection, and process/workflow analysis skills
  • Excellent communication skills (written & oral English), including the ability to communicate and present to all levels of the organisation
  • Able to demonstrate instances of initiative that have delivered organisational benefits
  • Cultural awareness and experience of delivering solutions internationally

Desirable

  • Non-profit sector knowledge/experience
  • Experience in working with off-site project team members
  • Experience of delivering solutions internationally
  • Proficiency in a second core language of Save the Children (French, Spanish, Portuguese or Arabic

We can offer circa £55,000 per annum (If based in UK) with an option of flexible working hours. If the role is based outside of the UK, National T&C (including pay) will apply.

This role can be based in London or any existing Save the Children International Regional or Country office location on approval, provided the successful candidate has proof of eligibility to work from the preferred location.
