The Opportunity
Save the Children International has an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as the Project Financial Accountant – Balance Sheet in London, UK or any existing Save the Children International Regional or Country office worldwide.
Role Purpose:
Save the Children is implementing a new financial data model across the organisation, which includes an updated chart of accounts. This new data model will be implemented across all Save the Children’s 70+ offices, which include Country Offices, Regional Offices, our Centre Office in London. The implementation of this project, called Coding, is done in waves of around 10 offices at the same time. There are 5 waves to be implemented between now and the end of 2025.
This role will lead on the preparation and transition of the balance sheet to the new global chart of accounts for each of these waves. The role will also be responsible for ensuring full allocation and reconciliation across all control accounts on the balance sheet and all award fund balances for the country offices going live with Coding
This includes posting centre bank account transactions and preparing bank reconciliations.
The post holder is responsible for managing the recharging of the consolidated invoices for all travel across SCI to the relevant country offices.
In order to be successful, you will bring/have:
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
Essential
- excellent knowledge of balance sheet control and reconciliation process
- experience of working in a multi-currency environment
- experience with management information systems and strong excel skills
- experience of solving complex issues through analysis
- excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- results oriented with ability to find solutions and make improvements
- ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships at all levels
- self-motivated with good time management skills and ability to prioritise workload, anticipate requirements, work to tight deadlines and communicate decisions on a regular basis

We can offer circa £50,500 per annum (If based in UK) with an option of flexible working hours. If the role is based outside of the UK, National T&C (including pay) will apply.
This role can be based in London or any existing Save the Children International Regional or Country office location on approval, provided the successful candidate has proof of eligibility to work from the preferred location.
