Engagement and Information Lead - Global Transformation

The Opportunity

Save the Children International has an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as the Engagement and Information Lead - Global Transformation in Centre -London, UK or any existing Save the Children International Regional or Country office worldwide.

ROLE PURPOSE: 

The Engagement & Information Lead sits within the Transformation Delivery department reporting to the Head of Portfolio Management Office. Save the Children is going through a significant period of change with multiple global transformation projects impacting both SCI and Members and the Transformation Delivery team is responsible for leading the implementation of these projects.

In particular, Save the Children is currently facing a number of external pressures that require us to look at our structure and ways of working and determine the changes we need to make in order to remain relevant as we move into 2021 and beyond. The Flexible Operating Model project (Flex OM) is focused on our response as a global organisation to the external factors so that Save the Children can continue to deliver on its mission and is the organisation’s top priority. The project is highly complex, multi-faceted and will significantly impact the Save the Children Movement’s structures and ways of working. Leadership and governance of the project is at the highest levels (Board of Trustees and Save the Children Member CEOs).

The purpose of the Engagement & Information Lead/Head of role is to lead, provide technical leadership and strategic direction over and implement the portfolio’s engagement and information strategy in order to facilitate the successful delivery of the portfolio as well as priority projects such as Flex OM.

The Engagement & Information Lead/Head of will need to consider, anticipate and respond to the needs of the portfolio’s wide range of stakeholders in order to move them along the change curve and facilitate project delivery. Key stakeholders include the SCI/SCA Board, CEOs and SLT of SCI and Members, Regional and Country Directors and all SCI Staff. Another key audience that this role will lead the engagement of is the Global Project Teams, and the Transformation Delivery and IT Teams.

They will also need to ensure that the strategic reporting requirements such as the annual Strategic Investment Report are completed to a high standard and incorporated within ongoing engagement activities.

Finally, the Engagement & Information Lead/Head of will need to provide direction, support and coach the Engagement & Information Manager to ensure key engagement and information deliverables are achieved to a high standard and support delivery of the portfolio and priority project (Flex OM)

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

Essential:

  • Proven experience in developing and implementing high impact information and engagement strategies, ideally in a complex global organisation.
  • Technical knowledge and experience of change management best practices
  • Excellent writer and editor, skilled at distilling large amounts of information and crafting messages for diverse audiences
  • Fluency in written and spoken English
  • A strategic thinker with the ability to consider wider organisational needs
  • Experience of working in a project and change environment and knowledge of project and change management methodologies and approaches
  • Organized, with a focus on timelines and deliverables
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced and changing environment
  • Self-motivated, self-starter
  • Team player
  • Strong interpersonal skills, able to interact with stakeholders of varying degrees of seniority
  • Excellent influencing and negotiation skills, including an ability to deal with people at all levels with credibility, tact, and diplomacy
  • Proven experience working with and providing advice to chief executives and other senior leaders
  • Highly resilient, comfortable with change and able to manage ambiguity
  • Organisational savviness and business acumen
  • A commitment to Save the Children’s mission and values

Desirable:

  • Experience developing and implementing engagement plans for largescale organisational design projects
  • Experience working in both the International Development and Corporate Sectors
  • Experience of complex global/federated organisation

We can offer circa £60,000 per annum (If based in UK) with an option of flexible working hours. If the role is based outside of the UK, National T&C (including pay) will apply.

This role can be based in any existing Save the Children International Regional or Country office location on approval, provided the successful candidate has proof of eligibility to work from the preferred location.
