Port Sudan with frequent travels to support field Supply Chain functions

GRADE: NAT 3

CONTRACT LENGTH:

 12 months 

CHILD SAFEGUARDING: 

Level 3:  the post holder will have contact with children and/or young people either frequently (e.g. once a week or more) or intensively (e.g. four days in one month or more or overnight) because they work country programs; or are visiting country programs; or because they are responsible for implementing the police checking/vetting process staff.

 

 

ROLE PURPOSE: 

Under the direct supervision of the Director of Supply Chain, this role is to understand the whole supply chain and process in SCI, so he/she can effectively work and coordinate with all supply chain pillars to improving communication and data integrity, to close gaps in understanding in realizing effective supply chain planning through, improving supply chain data collection and analysis methods & developing clear tools and guidance for supply chain data collection and analysis. As well as using TIM, the newly deployed Source to Pay, & ProFleet to enhance supply chain reporting.

 

In the event of a major humanitarian emergency, the role holder will be expected to work outside the normal role profile and be able to vary working hours accordingly.

Role Dimensions: Save the Children International in Sudan is working across Sudan e.g, South, West and North Kordofan, North, West & Central Darfur States, Blue Nile State, Sinnar, Gadrif, White Nile and the Red Sea State in Sudan. Our thematic coverage includes child rights governance, child protection, education, health, nutrition, WASH, livelihoods, and humanitarian emergencies. We maintain diversified sources of funding including SIDA, BHA, DFATD, GSK, EC/ECHO etc.

 

This is a challenging role in a complex environment. It requires a dedicated, experienced and highly motivated individual who can manage the difficulties of living and working in such an environment and still be fundamental in helping to drive forward our programs and our ambitions. 

 

 

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:

 

  • Monitor and collect data on current supply chain operations, including scheduling, sourcing, warehousing, assets, and delivery.
  • Analyze data to determine areas for performance improvement.
  • Investigate pain points within the process and develop solutions to resolve conflicts and inefficiencies.
  • Gather data on each step within the supply chain, using it to recommend changes to reduce costs.
  • Support supply chain in FOs & CO with Source to Pay Project. 
  • Communicate with other departments within the organization to identify efficiency issues, develop solutions, and implement changes. 
  • Create performance reports  to review & present.
  • Be Supply Chain’s lead on any SC reporting requirements.
  • The holder shall work on custom transformation of the diversified data generated by the two new change projects (Pro-save and Pro-fleet) and the existing one (TIM) into a visual utilizable information display. Hence and ultimately Supply Chain analysis enables an efficient and effective supply chain.
  • Support the Construction Portfolio Analysis

When applicable to: -

  • Lead, supervise and motivate direct reports, ensure they have clear objectives and receive meaningful feedback on their performance regularly (in line with Save the Children performance management procedures).
  • Create and maintain a cooperative, collaborative, and positive working environment where staff have clear roles and responsibilities, participate in decision making and are supported in progressing towards their objectives.
  • Lead on capacity building of direct line reports through coaching, mentoring, and training.

 

Child Safeguarding

  • Act as an ambassador for child safeguarding in both professional and personal life. Never abuse position of trust and authority.
  • Keeping children we work with safe from deliberate harm/risk or inadvertent harm/risk. This is a top organizational and personal commitment, and the standards of behavior towards children expected by the organization should reflect both in your personal and professional life. 
  • Behave towards children in a way which reflects the Code of Conduct, CSG Code of Conduct and Child Safeguarding Policy. 
  • Report any CSG issues or concerns in a timely way according to the Country reporting system and procedures. (At least two reports per year). Ask if unclear on anything to do with child safeguarding, such as which concerns should be reported, how to report concerns and how to respond to them.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

Essential:

  • University Bachelor Degree 
  • Previous experience of at least one year in an analytical capacity. 
  • Theoretical and practical knowledge of analytical methodologies and tools, particularly qualitative analysis.
  • Excellent knowledge and experience of Microsoft Excel.
  • Record of excellent writing and communication skills, demonstrating the ability to summarize key information.
  • Critical thinker, capable of presenting the ‘bigger picture’.
  • Demonstrated capacity to work autonomously under pressure and with tight deadlines.
  • Diplomatic mind-set, respectful of the diversity of experiences and points of view in intercultural teams.
  • Appetite for learning and making a difference in complex and challenging environments.
  • Ability to analyze data – and provide trends 
  • Knowledge and experience of Microsoft Power Bi, GIS, and/or other data visualization tools.
  • Knowledge and experience of setting up and managing databases.

 

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field (e.g. political science, Information technology social sciences, economics, international humanitarian law).
